About this course
Before satellites, navigators crossed oceans using the sky, and the fundamentals are still beautiful, useful, and teachable today. This course covers the direction-finding core of celestial navigation: how the stars reveal north and south, how to find the North Star, how the sun and moon mark direction and time, and how a sextant measures the height of heavenly bodies to fix a position.
