Climate Change
By admin · An intermediate course on the defining climate story of our time: how the greenhouse effect works, why the fingerprint of human activity is written across the warming planet, the impacts already arriving, and the choices that shape the future.
About this course
The Earth's climate has always changed, but it is now changing at a pace and for a reason unlike anything in human history. The greenhouse gases released by burning fossil fuels are trapping more of the sun's heat, and the planet has warmed by more than a degree, with the consequences already visible in heatwaves, sea level, melting ice and shifting storm patterns. This classroom explains the physics of the greenhouse effect, the evidence that human activity is driving the warming, the impacts cascading through weather, water, food and health, and the responses, from renewable energy to adaptation, that will decide how much worse it gets.
