About this course

Every story you read was shaped by hundreds of small choices, and those choices form patterns called media bias. This classroom turns you from a passive reader into an analyst: you will define bias and separate it from opinion and error, map outlets on the two independent axes of political lean and reliability, learn to read the Ad Fontes Media Bias Chart, and master the craft of spotting loaded language and frames. You will also build a practical comparison routine for reading the same story across outlets and face the hardest subject of all, the bias in your own reading habits. By the end you will know what each outlet does, why it does it, and how to rebuild any story from its raw facts.
